Volume, alerts and the network
More listings, better notification tooling, and the thing no job board can offer: the people. A referral from someone you know moves an application further than any board does, and that is LinkedIn's real product.
LinkedIn is where most people start, and for good reason: it is free, enormous, and the alerts work. This is not a comparison of size — LinkedIn has more museum listings than this board ever will. It is a comparison of which museum roles reach it in the first place.

More listings, better notification tooling, and the thing no job board can offer: the people. A referral from someone you know moves an application further than any board does, and that is LinkedIn's real product.
Galleries, auction houses, art fairs, agencies, tech and consultancies hiring for cultural work post there and often nowhere else. Those roles are largely outside what this board indexes.
A large share of museum vacancies — public-sector posts, university museums, continental institutions, small foundations — are published on the institution's own careers page and nowhere else, often briefly and often in the local language. Posting to LinkedIn costs money and effort a public museum frequently does not spend. Those roles are exactly what this site reads for.
Curatorial, collections, conservation, archives, education, production, leadership. No filtering "curator" out of retail and content-marketing results.
Every listing shows the date it was last confirmed open, and closed roles keep their page rather than vanishing. Advertised pay is archived permanently and published as a free dataset.
LinkedIn is free and this board is not, past a handful of listings. If you are searching in a large US or UK city, LinkedIn plus the sector boards may be all you need. The argument for this site is coverage of institutions that never post to a general board — and it is a real argument, not a claim to be bigger.
Keep LinkedIn for the network and the commercial roles. Use this for institutional vacancies that stay on the institution's own site.
