Rutgers’ commitment to its employees includes maintaining and fostering a safe, diverse, and respectful workplace environment, creating employment opportunities for our nation’s military veterans, and ensuring accessibility and accommodation for individuals with disabilities.Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Curator of Education and Outreach (Head of Learning and Community Engagement) for the Jane Voorhees Zimmerli Art Museum.Among the key duties of the position are the following:Provides leadership, direction, and coordination for the Zimmerli Art Museum’s Department of Learning and Community Engagement (currently the Education Department).Handles the research, development, planning, implementation, administration, and evaluation of all educational programs for Rutgers students, faculty, staff, and members of neighboring communities.Ensures that the museum is an active participant in both the Rutgers and greater New Brunswick communities, and that the museum’s programs enhance and enrich the works of art in the permanent collection and in temporary exhibitions while upholding its values of diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion.Works closely with the museum’s director, and as a member of the senior management team.Acts as an ambassador for the museum, initiating and sustaining collaborative partnerships with academic departments, student organizations, local schools, and community organizations serving a diverse range of disciplines and interests.
