The PositionThe Jewish Museum debuted its renewed and reimagined collection galleries and center for learning in October 2025.
At the same time, the Museum continues to develop widely and critically acclaimed temporary exhibitions featuring art from ancient times to the present. We are seeking additional per diem educators to conduct onsite tours for adult groups of the Museum’s special exhibitions and collection exhibition. Some virtual teaching opportunities will also be available.
ResponsibilitiesConduct gallery talks (either onsite and/or online) on a range of topics related to the Jewish Museum’s collection and special exhibitions Conduct art historical research and prepare PowerPoint presentations independentlyAttend occasional in person and virtual training sessions.
All sessions will be recorded for future reference RequirementsBachelor’s degree in art history, museum studies, museum education, or related field, master’s preferredDeep knowledge of art history Knowledge of ancient, medieval, modern, and/or contemporary art preferred Five or more years related experience working in museums and/or teaching art historyStrong verbal skills, dynamic educatorFlexibility in adapting to the needs of diverse audiencesReliabilityExperience teaching in a museum with original works of art and familiarity teaching on Zoom with Power Point presentations A flexible schedule with Sunday, weekday, and evening availability preferred
