The entry point into curatorial work: assistant and associate curator roles and curatorial fellowships.
Assistant and associate curator posts, and curatorial fellowships, are where most curatorial careers begin. The work is the research, correspondence, object lists, rights clearance and exhibition logistics that sit underneath a show, usually reporting to a curator who holds the concept. Many are fixed-term and attached to a particular exhibition or grant.
Also advertised as Curatorial Assistant, Assistant Curator, Associate Curator, Curatorial Fellow, Kuratorische Assistenz.
